Welcome to the HOME PAGE for "REGGIE FOR PRESIDENT". It's a work in progress, so I won't stop adding to it and/or changing it (until after November ?, 2012, Election Day). I designed this web site myself, and I created and typed all of the content (so give me the credit or the blame, as you see fit).

"My name is Reggie, and I'm running for President" (I remember that movie, too)!

I believe myself to be the first ever "Internet Presidential Candidate". With your continuous input (by way of the Internet) to me as President, we will discover and fix everything that is broken (and everything is broken)!

In 2008 I was a "WRITE-IN CANDIDATE" because I was unable to get my name on the ballot in all 50 states and 3 U. S. territories (it wasn't as easy as I thought because many of the States and territories have different rules, and some have fees). I believe it was intentionally made difficult by the two "reigning parties" to dissuade individuals from doing it. I also think every American citizen, born and raised in this Country, should feel free to run for any public office if they want to, and it shouldn’t be difficult; nor should it there be any “fees” (isn’t that part of the definition of a Democracy)? Where is all this "freedom" they're always talking about "in the land of the free"?Another thing to fix!

I'll get my name on the ballot this time by starting sooner!

After reading what I just wrote, it occurred to me: we are alI continuously referring to the responsible individuals (most of whom we don't know) when we use words such as "they", they're, those, them, (and many others such as our Government). If you elect me President, I will be the one you will be referring to, and I will be the one responsible, and you can blame me. You'll finally have a name to use when placing the blame. But if you do blame me, understand there's a lot I don't know, and you have the responsibility to educate me: tell me what is broken and how to fix it. There is so much that needs to be fixed. For anyone to do it well, that individual will require your help! This will be OUR Government, and you will have a voice, and you will help make all of the decisions. In a true Democracy all opinions are valued and solicited, and the majority shall rule. It's that simple! Let's finally have the very first "true democracy".

Let's control our future, modify our present, and change our past.

IF YOU MAKE UNREASONABLE LAWS, NO ONE WILL FOLLOW THEM!!!!  ABSOLUTE PROHIBITION IS UNREASONABLE

     2) If the people want legalized drugs, not just legalized "prescription drugs" (which are also "abused"), let's give it to them.

PROHIBITION DOESN'T WORK!!! Making something illegal doesn’t keep people from using/doing/wanting it; it just creates a "black market" for the item you're prohibiting, where they can still get it. Didn't we learn anything from the '1920's? We didn't keep people from drinking; we just lost the tax revenue from the sale of it. This Country is a business and it needs to take in money because it has bills to pay. Let's run our Country like it's a business that we, ourselves, own (because it is). This is our Country. We own it; you and I. If we take in more money from taxes on drug sales, we can reduce other taxes, e.g. income taxes! Let's be "business smart". People all over the world "use" something, either drugs or alcohol, or both; always have and always will. Our Country needs the money, not the "black market". Legitimate businesses, located in our Country, employing Americans can manufacture and sell these drugs, with quality control and rules administered by the FDA. "If we can't prevent it, let's tax it (and use the extra money to improve our Country)."

         3) If the people want legalized alcohol, let's give it to them. Let's stop "ratcheting" down the "legal blood alcohol level" so that we can "entrap" our citizens without cause, and cite them for "drunk driving" without provocation. We have found just another way to "tax" the people. DUI is many thousands of dollars and very likely "jail time" on you're first offence. NOW THAT'S UNREASONABLE! That's actually my definition of "taxation without representation". Remember the "Boston tea party" that started the Revolutionary War?

         4) If the people want to drive fast, let's give it to them. I will work to eventually eliminate speed laws on the interstates, starting with standardizing the maximum and minimum speeds (where safe) throughout the Country. I will request the help of the German Government regarding their very successful "autobahn". Data will be collected and tabulated, and if accident rates don't go up, I will instruct the DOT to increase the speeds and continue the study. I will work towards eventual elimination of speed limits (only on the interstates, for now), if our accident rates don't go up. Reckless driving will always be against the law, and new laws (copied from the Germans), will need to be put in place. Speeds can be increased as long as safety is not compromised.

         5) I would instruct the DOT to permanently eliminate the use of all devices such as radar, laser, etc. in this Country. I consider the use of such devices as "entrapment". It makes me sad to see "police officers" being forced by their superiors to hide in the shadows, or at the top of overpasses, or at the crest of hills just to "catch us" speeding.  Patrolling means patrolling, it does not mean, "hiding". A  "police officer" has many valuable and indispensable duties, none of which is "revenue or tax collector". Again, we have taxation without representation. The States, Counties, and Cities need to get their revenue in ways other than "entrapping" us, which I believe to be illegal. (It will be if you elect me). I am very much for safety, but your government has to be fair to you in the way they affect it. If they need more money, raise the prices, like everybody else does.

I would like to see our Law Enforcement Agencies return to their original charter objectives: a) the Highway Patrols should "patrol the highways and assist distressed motorists; b) the Police Departments should "police" the cities continuously, assisting citizens in need, enforcing local laws and statutes, and if necessary arresting law breakers. The Sheriff Departments should "patrol" the counties continuously, assisting citizens in need, enforcing local laws and statutes, and if necessary arresting law breakers. The same is true for all State and other agencies. They're function is to help, not to intimidate, when possible.

        6) I think the four types of people who are the most important to us are (in any order): a) our teachers (because they are educating our future generations, and are therefore controlling the future of not only our Country, but of the whole world); b) our military forces (because they are protecting us and our life style, both hear and abroad, and because they risk their lives for us everyday; c) our "policemen" (because they protect us and risk their lives for us everyday); and d) our firemen (because they too protect us and risk their lives for us everyday). These should be among our most respected people, and should also be among our most highly paid people. You get what you pay for, and the higher the salary, the higher quality person the field will attract. That said, since everyone spends all the money they make, and then some, "respect" is also a very important factor in choosing a vocation. I know we're all in love with our movie stars, and rock/country stars, etc., but at the end of the day they entertain us. A worthy profession to be sure, but the four categories I mentioned above make our wonderful lives possible, and they deserve our never-ending gratitude.

       7) If the people want legalized gambling, throughout the entire Country, let's give it to them. Why should we have to drive long distances to "Rivers" or "Indian "Casinos" if we want to gamble? If this is what the majority of the people want to do, then I say: let them do it. It's their Country too, and the majority should rule in a true Democracy.

Send me the one most important thing to you that you want changed, and if it's not already on my list, I'll add it. Keep checking my web site; you'll be amazed to see that we're all the same, and we all want the same things. We're all just normal people. At the top of this section I said, "We need me". I said we, because I need me too. Without me these changes are not going to happen.

If you agree with only one thing I say I'll change, then vote for me because you won't even get that much from anyone else (we never have)!

If you ONLY agree with one thing I say I'll change, then go to the "Suggestions tab" in the "Contact Me" section and email me what you want changed, and I'll add it to the list! (See Disclaimers, Numbers Two and Four).

When else in the history of the world has a political candidate ever asked each individual citizen 1) to tell him how they would like the "rules" changed; 2) said he would publish their requests on his web site if they emailed them to him; and 3) if elected, said that he would have all of the people of the country vote on their idea, and if the majority of the people wanted the change then it would be changed?

It's a new day, made possible because of the Internet and it's ability to instantly communicate with your elected Officials. Life in this world, for the average person, has just changed enormously for the better! In the future, all of the people in the world will "get a vote" in their governments.

Let's make the future TODAY. "My name is Reggie, and I'm running for President". Email me at: Reg4president@aol.com with your suggestions.

       1) You'll help make the laws. Each individual person will be able to e-mail me (and all of your other elected federal government officials) your opinions/recommendations on: a) what you want on any new proposed laws; b) any changes you want on existing laws; and c) any old laws you want eliminated. We'll then solicit the opinions of the entire Country by providing all citizens with a summary of each proposed law (including our recommendations). After tabulating and integrating the opinions/recommendations, we'll then request that each person vote "for" or "against" the new law. The results will be made public, (both pro and con) and the majority will win. (Now that's what I call a Democracy: of the people, by the people, and for the people)! It's that simple.
I ran as a "Federal Election Committee" officially designated candidate for President in 2008, and "came in" somewhere between 7th and 30th +/- (the number of officially designated election committees). FYI: at the horse races they announce the finishing position of the first 4 horses. Our federal government only announces the winner. We'll add that to the list of things to fix.

We'll pole the people and the majority will decide. That seems fare to me!Three of my favorite sayings: 1) "You ain't seen noth'n yet"; 2) "The best is yet to come"; and 3) "If you make unreasonable laws, no one will follow them".
